Introduction:

Weddings are big, stressful events but there’s nothing worse than awkward and stilted conversation at the most important table, the wedding table. Wedding Seat Chart is a two-player drafting game where players fill seats for either the bride or groom. Each guest has a unique scoring condition based on those in the seats around them.

Game Anatomy:

Wedding Table:

At the wedding table is 16 seats that players will take turns filling one at a time. At the end of the game, the bride and groom will be moved around the table to chat to their guests and collect the end-game score. The guest at the end of the table won't be fully optimised as they won't point to anyone past the end of the table.

Cards:

Each guest will have a blue and a pink side that is used to correspond with either the bride or groom player. There are scoring symbols on the left-hand side of the card, and how the card will score at the bottom of the card. These scoring conditions will have arrows pointing to other table locations. Any arrow with a value in it will determine the range of that scoring condition. Each scoring condition will require certain symbols or colours. If a card requires either pink or blue cards, the colour will then be shown as opposite on the flipped side.

Setup:

- Place the two table boards connected in the centre of the table.
- Place the bride and groom meeples at the cake.
- Designate one player as the bride (pink) and groom (blue).
- Shuffle and reveal three cards for drafting.

How to Play:

Turns are very easy in this game, simply select one of the three revealed cards (flipping it to your colour) and place it with the bottom of the card facing the board at any seat of that player's choice. Cards will be refreshed after they are selected. Each player will have eight turns then the table will score. Starting from the lowest value seat, each seat will score by moving the bride or groom meeple up the score tracker.

Final Thoughts:

- Unique theme that fits very well.
- Quick point salad game that is largely affected by how your opponent places their cards.
- All cards can be used by either team because they are double sided.

Wedding Seat Chart is a fast back-and-forth point salad game where players have to be considerate of the shared tableu as they pick and place guests at the wedding table. The players then have to safeguard and reinforce these guests to achieve the best scoring outcome. There is a lot of potential scoring for players to keep track of but that doesn't slow the gameplay down. If you want a fast spatial puzzle with a unique theme then this one will get you all tied in knots.
