Clank Catacombs: Rapid Review

Clank Catacombs: Rapid Review Information: Mechanics:  Deck-Building, Push Your Luck, Exploration, Tile Placement Player Age:  13+  Player Count:  2 - 4  Players Time to Play:  45 - 90  Minutes  Game Designer:  Paul Dennen Game Artist:  Clay Brooks, Anika Burrell, Nate Storm, Dan Taylor (II) Publisher : Direwolf Year Published:  2022 BGG Weight:  2.18 Rundown:  Clank has returned with a standalone expansion, Clank Catacombs. The main change in this version is instead of having one static board, the board is constructed as players play through numerous tiles. Appeal: The appeal is easy with this game, it targets two types of players;  those intrigued by the mechanisms but prefer tile-laying games/variable maps, and the players who are pre-existing fans of Clank. For the fans, this standalone game is completely compatible with existing content (unlike Clank in Space). This means that the cards in the deck...

Clank - Levity Stickers: Review

Clank - Levity Stickers: Review Overview: Clank is a great adventure game that combines deck building with board exploration, for a review on the base game visit here. This review is focused on the stickers from Levity Games that aim on enhancing your wooden components. Meeples: Each character meeple has a sticker for their front and back, creating an enhanced presence throughout the whole game. These stickers are based on the characters and meeples from the base game including two male and female characters (matching the clank cover).  The feisty dragon piece has also been enhanced with the sticker addition whereby creating a mightier face as it gains more anger through player exploration. Clank Tokens: Unlike other sticker companies, Levity has added stickers to the other crucial part of Clank. These are the clank tokens that represent your life, the noise you make, and other elements from certain expansions. Final Thoughts: - Stickers for the clank tokens. - Currently only catac...

With the last two map packs they have streamlined the expansion to no longer include cards and simply have only the maps and their features. Are the maps any good though? Let's find out with silk and gold.  Spider Queen's Lair: The first map is the Spider Queen's Lair. Firstly, the 7 point artifact is replaced with a spider idol and the dragon meeple is replaced by the spider queen herself. Between locations will be some webbing denoted by the Web tokens that  can either be cut down with the use of a sword or avoid...

In Clank you are adventurers exploring deep into the depths to gain the best artifact before you annoy the dragon too much and have to face his fiery anger. There are four currencies: the swords that will be used to slay monsters; skill is used to buy cards to enhance your deck or for later use; boots depict movement over the board although some locations will be locked, will require extra movement or have monsters in between them, and players must end th...
