Introduction:

The third allies park brings coverage of a wide range of female characters from the Power Rangers seasons and introduces the first RPM character to HOTG. This expansion includes two megazords and five new rangers with their zords.

Characters:

Karone (Pink Galaxy Ranger):

Card Cost Range: 0 - 3
Shields in Deck: 3 (1 shield), 4 (2 Shield), 3 (3 Shield)
Ranger Colour: Pink
Card Type Build: 6 (attacks), 2 (reaction), 2 (maneuver)

Karone focuses on two things; collateral damage and ignoring guard. Many of her attacks and her zord allow you to ignore enemies with guard, often gaining a benefit as well such as gaining energy through her character card or 'Dark Insight'.

The other crucial part of her character card is that once per battle when ignoring guard you can either gain one energy or deal one damage to any enemy. The 'Shattered Blast' attack performs one damage to each adjacent enemy if the initial attack is unsuccessful. This is great when many enemies are left with only one health.

Kendall Morgan (Dino Charge Purple):

Card Cost Range: 0 - 3
Shields in Deck: 3 (1 shield), 4 (2 Shield), 3 (3 Shield)
Ranger Colour: Purple
Card Type Build: 6 (attacks), 2 (reaction), 2 (maneuver)

Kendall is focused on deck manipulation (searching for cards, drawing from the bottom) and card draws.

Two of my favourite cards from her are 'Rapid Blast' and ‘Dino Morpher Blast’. Rapid blast discards the top card of her deck after rolling the attack to deal the same damage result to targets equal to the amount of defence on the card discarded, rather than a single enemy. Dino Morpher Blast allows players to use their once-per-battle ability a second time in this battle.

Delphine (White Aquitar Ranger):

Card Cost Range: X, 0 - 3
Shields in Deck: 4 (1 shield), 2 (2 Shield), 4 (3 Shield)
Ranger Colour: White
Card Type Build: 6 (attacks), 4 (reaction)

Delphine is all about making the most of missed attacks. All her cards have some sort of bonus that activates when the miss symbol appears during an attack.

'Aquitan Knuckle' is particularly great. As a zero-cost card with one dice, it doesn't strike fear into enemy hearts but the result of a miss symbol will be followed by a bonus three damage. Her 'White Battle Borg' helps activate these abilities by adding a dice on the miss face to the combat. 'False Swipe' is also particularly helpful as it turns all attacks rolled into the miss symbol and then grants the active player another turn.

Doctor K:

Card Cost Range: X, 0 - 2
Shields in Deck: 4 (1 shield), 2 (2 Shield), 4 (3 Shield)
Ranger Colour: White
Card Type Build: 5 (reaction), 5 (manuever)

Doctor K is a true support character. Her deck is built up of maneuvers (two of which allow her to use combat dice) and reactions but no attack cards.

Her character ability allows her to join any battle being commenced in the other regions. Her zord allows her to re-draw up to five cards to keep her out of direct combat for as long as possible. Additionally, her zord can be used with any RPM ranger that will hopefully arrive with future expansions.

Udonna (White Mystic Ranger):

Card Cost Range: 0 - 3
Shields in Deck: 3 (1 shield), 4 (2 Shield), 3 (3 Shield)
Ranger Colour: White
Card Type Build: 4 (attacks), 4 (reaction), 2 (maneuver)

Udonna’s character card and zord allow her to convert one rolled hit into a miss, activating her character ability helping her to either defeat a foot soldier for free or gain two energy.

If planned effectively this can be combo-ed with 'Flash Freeze' which allows the rangers to have another turn, or 'Winter's Guile' which allows a ranger to immediately play a zero-cost card. Besides this, Udonna has some good deck recovery, re-roll and direct damage cards.

Megazords:

The Lost Galaxy Rangers and Dino Charge Rangers gain additional help in the form of two new megazords. The Orion Galaxy Megazord helps reduce energy costs each battle with its pool of five energy, and each attack can be reduced by 1-2 energy (using the five energy). Plesio Charge Megazord is especially helpful as it has one Ranger drawing a card every turn and dealing one damage to an enemy for performing this draw action (maximum once per turn).

Final Thoughts:

- Covers characters for a wide range of seasons.

- Two megazords added

- Good use of missed attack dice.

- Good range of abilities.

If you enjoy the females of the Power Ranger universe then this is an ally pack for you. Dr K is slightly more advanced with her playstyle but the other characters and their playstyles contained in this pack are all easy to use yet unique in their identity. I particularly like how the white rangers make better use of the missed attack symbol. If any of these characters resonate with you or you simply want more content for your game, then this is a great expansion that I recommend.
