Introduction:

Rick and Morty is an animated comedy show that everyone knows, it is up there with adult comedy greats like Family Guy and The Simpson's. The titular characters that are often the centre point of the adventures are Rick and Morty. With this pack of Funkoverse, you have the two characters, one item and a double-sided map with four scenarios.

Characters:

Rick:

Resources: Yellow and Grey.
Defence: 2
Ability Cost: 1-3

In the TV show, Rick always has a wacky gadget to get him out of trouble. In Funkoverse he shares these gadgets with the other characters on his team by being the last activated character on that team or activating 'Irresponsible Genuis'. These are activated by discarding the card and have the penalty of the enemy player placing one of your unspent resources on the 2 section of the cool-down track after activation. The abilities will either let you move more, or attack with more dice or with a larger range.

Morty:

Resources: Yellow (X2) and Red.
Defence: 2
Ability Cost: 2-3

Morty is a great support character and his trait adds a third Yellow resource, giving players more resources to use. He solidifies this support with 'Get it Together' which allows him to remove another resource off the cooldown track and replacing it with a yellow resource on the 3 section of the track.

Item:

Portal Gun
The Portal Gun adds a new starting area, allowing characters to spawn closer to the objective. This is great for certain game modes such as flags, territory and control.

Final Thoughts:

- All characters are support based.
- Would love to have seen more characters explored.
- Morty is the only character I have seen with three resources.

If you love Rick and Morty then this is an easy addition, however looking at the characters and the set away from the theme, both characters are support-based, where neither are strong enough to lead a team. It would have been much better if this was a four-pack or was paired with a four-pack release creating a more rounded roster of Rick and Morty characters.
