Rundown:

Does the wrestling ring beckon you? Have you always wanted to prove your might and see if you have what it takes to finish your opponent and keep them down for the count? Supershow lets you do this, allowing you and one other player to enter the ring and fight until only one competitor is left standing.

There are three card types; lead, follow-up and finish. Considering their names, these cards can only be played in the proper order starting with a lead card, then a follow-up and finally a finish card.

On your turn, you draw a card and then play a valid card which will stay in play. If your opponent has a stop card that matches the card order requirement they can play it to foil your plans and discard your card.

Then players each roll their dice and compare the value on their competitor card that matches one of the six skills rolled (grapple, power, strike, technique, agility, submission). The winner of this will take the next turn meaning that you could have multiple turns in a row as long as you keep winning the roll.

When you play a finish card you are attempting to do just that, finish your opponent. To do this roll the dice and match the value of the skill. Your opponent will have three rolls to try to break out of this finish by either matching or rolling a higher-valued skill. If the defending player breaks out then discard all cards in play on both sides and add the first card of the crowd meter (increasing the chance of a finish ending the game next time). If you start your turn with zero cards in your hand and no cards in your deck then you have won the game by count out.

Alteration:

The alteration comes largely from the expansions which I don't have. There are too many competitors to count and each has three things unique to them these include their special gimmick ability displayed on their card, a unique spread of values from 1 to 10 for their skills, and 3 special finish cards.

Four competitors are included in this set. The Big Shot and The Rising Sun are the headliners and The Wreck and Poppa Wheelie are added for more variability.

Players can also deck build to design for different tactics that match their favourite competitors. However this does require more content than a base starter box. Each deck has to consist of card numbers 1-30 so the deck building comes from which cards to swap out in favour of others.

Production:

Everything in the game is of standard quality. The production went into the growth of the game. This game is constantly supported like a CCG should be. It has consistent events at conventions and supports the player base with new competitors, new modes of play (including modes for higher player counts), and new cards for deck-building possibilities.

Interaction:

Supershow is a direct back and forth between players as you are aiming to set yourself up for the perfect finish at a quicker speed and better efficiency than your opponent. To do this you manipulate your cards to draw more to stop your opponent's advancement, search for better cards or simply add to your dice roll in aiming to win that next turn.

Determination:

- Tonnes of variability through expansions.

- Engaging back and forth.

- Turns can be far between when the other player keeps rolling better than you

- Can be fast or lengthy. The crowd meter helps mitigate this.

Supershow is a mostly quick back-and-forth game between two players (or more with the expansion). This game is all about finding the finish card and setting up your moves so you can either stop your opponent in the ring or delay them enough to run out of cards in your deck and hand. This is a twist on head to head games where you are no longer worried about their health but you simply worry about setting up your combo. If you are a fan of wrestling or want to try a different style of head-to-head/CCG game then this game could be for you.
