Introduction:

Darkwing Duck, the cult favourite superhero of the 90s, is introduced to the Funkoverse library in this one-character expansion pack.

Character:

Darkwing Duck:

Resources: Blue and Grey

Defence: 2

Ability Cost: 1-3

Darkwing Duck is a character that excels at hiding in the shadows and getting close and personal. If he starts his turn hidden from rivals (no rival can see him) he can instantly move adjacent to an enemy up to 3 squares away. Once he performs an attack he can use his blue ability to flee three spaces. If he started this ability adjacent to an enemy then he can even follow through with an assist or interact action. Combined with the right items and busy map he could do plenty of damage lurking in the shadows then ambush striking.

Item:

Gas Gun:

If the map is not filled with terrain, this Gas Gun can create obscured terrain to make his moves more possible. Obscured terrain is a new keyword that comes with this item. It blocks characters from seeing others standing behind the obscured terrain, although it does not block characters from moving into this space. The Gas Gun has three smoke tokens that can be placed or moved two spaces away at the start of the character's turn, perfectly blocking a line of sight. This is also extremely useful as it is an item that doesn't go on the cool-down track and can be used every turn.

Final Thoughts:

- More challenging character to use

- Unique IP

- Great item.

Players that feel nostalgia for Darkwing Duck will instantly gravitate towards this expansion. For other players, be warned as Darkwing Duck is a more technical character to use than the other straightforward attack-based characters. Planned right, the character is extremely agile and hard to keep down while also being able to revive other characters easily. The item is the more interesting part of this expansion as it creates a new terrain type and can constantly be used throughout the game without delay. If there are more sneak-based attacking characters brought into the game then they will feel very comfortable with this weapon equipped. Overall, this expansion is a bit of a harder sell for players that aren't fans of the IP but they will find a unique item for other characters to gain use out of.
