Lost Ruins of Arnak: Temple Tile Holder

Lost Ruins of Arnak: Temple Tile Holder

Introduction:

One of the key components of Lost Ruins of Arnak is the research track. It scores multiple benefits throughout the game and victory points at the end for the cost of resources during the game. Once a player has reached the top of this track they have finally discovered the lost temple and the real scoring potential can occur.

The temple tiles can score the player 2, 6 or 11 points. The cost of these tiles works like a pyramid system where the least-scoring temple only takes one of the three costs shown below. The 6 points raise to two of these costs, and the top 11 points will take all three. The largest prize is a heavy price of 6 resources, involving all of the resource types in the game. Normally these tiles simply sit on a flat, vacant section above the research track on the board. This upgrade gives a three-dimensional holder for these tokens that beautifully covers the allocated vacant section.

Temple:

The product is a 3D-printed temple that is designed to increase the game's table presence, while also giving these important temple tiles the proper pedestal deserved. There are six vacant sections for each temple tile to fit. Each of these sections fits four tiles perfectly which is the maximum amount needed for a complete four-player game. The product seems to be of the highest quality printing as this is one sturdy piece of plastic. I cannot foresee this product breaking under normal circumstances and it also works as a perfect way to store the tiles when the game is packed away.

It comes in two colour options beige and gold. For those gamers who are prone to miniature painting, beige is a perfect light colour to paint over and create a more personal design. The gold is a bit more of a brownish colour that matches the more traditional explorer vibe that is perfect already for gamers with no intention of painting. Like the other Arnak product from Game Maker, CGE loves these upgrades enough that it is an officially licenced product.

Final Thoughts:

- The scoring value can be hard to read although it is clear which is the important scoring tile.

- Comes in two colours.

- Officially licenced product.

- Fits perfectly in the designated area while also having the perfect amount of space for all the tiles.

This is an upgrade I did not know I needed. It easily elevates the presence of the game while blending in perfectly. Don't get me wrong, there is no harm in having these pieces in their own designated piles above the research track, but with this temple, the game is easier to set up and tear down, has an elevated table presence and makes players pay attention to these key scoring possibilities. Once again Game Maker has enhanced a great game with an amazing upgrade. This is an easy recommendation for if you enjoy Lost Ruins of Arnak and love adding more flair to your games.
