Overview:

Each of the below expansion modules can be added individually to the game or together at once.

Envoy:

The envoy meeple can only be used once per season and it will allow players to reserve a terrain or city spot for the build action later on, or to gather resources on a future turn. When an envoy is used it can cost any resource to play but this can help players meet scoring plans for their monuments.

New Boon Card:

A new boon card is added called 'Ra'. Each game will have players selecting five of the six boon cards to use and the other will be discarded at the start of the game. This boon allows players for the remainder of the season to gain one resource of the matching type when they build an obelisk. For example, if you build an obelisk on a farm terrain then you will gain one grain.

Objective Cards:

Each player will start the game with one or two objective cards based on player count. The objective cards add a new way to get points which is then based on your monument placement.

Governor Cards:

Each player will have two or three governors to choose from at the start of the game (based on player count). Each player will select one and this will represent the player. The governor cards will be shown face up and will give each player bonus effects for the entirety of the game.

Final Thoughts:

- The objective and governor cards are great and I would recommend using them in every game.

- New wooden first player marker.

- The expansion fits in the base game with the insert.

- None of the expansions are too complex to learn.

- The objective cards can be very competitive to achieve in a two player game due to the monuments blocking spaces at the start of the game.

- The envoy doesn't seem to add too much in practicality.

This expansion has multiple modules that the players could decide on what they find important to the game. I know personally I am going to add the governor and objective cards to every game as they don't add to the complexity but greatly enhance an already enjoyable game. If you enjoy the base game, the expansion is a positive addition and is highly recommended.

These seals are those extra highlights for a Kickstarter Seal i would highly recommend backing or seeking out the kickstarter post release. For the Silver Seals i would seek out those games if they meet your style of game. The Golden Seals will be pat of my collection for a long time and i would highly recommend adding them to your collection.
