Rundown:

Welcome to.. Is a flip and write game where you are trying to score the most points by filling numbers in three streets in your neighbourhood. During the simultaneous play, all players will choose a number and the corresponding icon of the discard pile opposite to the number they chose. There will be three number+icon options available, for example the number 8 and a fence or the number 13 and a pool. Each of the icons has different effects such as the construction sign can add or negate 0, 1 or 2 from the number you write. The player that had the most construction in a game will also score 7 points at the end of the game. Each street has to go in numerical order from left to right but the numbering does not have to be consecutive. The game will end when someone has completed all three game goals or someone has failed to add a number to their board on three different turns.

Alteration:

This is a highly replayable game as the cards will always appear in a different sequence. There are also three different scoring goals in each game that players are aiming to fulfil that are randomised from a large pool of cards.

For players looking for more variability, six expansions are available that have added new maps and bonus rules such as Christmas lights or apocalyptic bunkers. These expansions also come with new scoring goals specific for each expansion. Additionally, there are two other standalone versions of welcome to.. that have different ways to score and gameplay. These are Welcome to Las Vegas and Welcome to the Moon.

Production:

The game is made up of score pads and cards. So the components are normal for a flip and write game, there are enough sheets to play for a long time before any laminating or replacement sheets become necessary. Each card has a useful face feature that shows the icon that is on the back of the card. This is hugely beneficial as it tells the players which icons will appear in the next turn, however the numbers will remain a mystery.

Interaction:

Welcome to.. isn't a highly interactive game between players and that is ok because the game is designed to give everyone the same opportunities. Some end game scoring points will be based on gaining majority in some things but the bulk of the game is about making smarter choices than your opponents.

Determination:

Pros:

- Many playable strategies.

- Easy to learn and play.

- Many expansions to keep the game feeling fresh.

- Wide player range.

Welcome to.. Is one of my best flip and write games. This is an easy to learn game with layers of depth that will have players following specific goals while trying to maximise their usual scoring possibilities. With such depth and a wide player range, it would be assumed that the game could take longer than needed for such an easy game, but once players are familiar with the mechanisms the game will take roughly 30 minutes at any player count. This is a great game and has earned a Go-To Golden Game.
