Introduction:

Valeria Card Kingdoms has grown to include the kingdoms of Flame and Frost. This expansion has new cards for every facet of the game and are all centred around the theme of flame or frost.

New Citizens:

One citizen for each number has been added, boosting the set-up variability. Some of these new citizens can gain you victory points and wild resources.

New Domains:

20 new domains have been added, each of which brings the theme of flame or frost.

New Monsters:

Four new monster types are added, two in the flame theme and two in the frost theme. Some of the monsters have a wild reward that can give strength, gold or magic.

New Dukes:

Six new dukes are added to help add more possibilities during setup.

Events:

Six events have been added to this expansion. Events are added to the exhaust pile during setup and when they are revealed after a pile is exhausted, players must resolve the event before continuing their turn.

Final Thoughts:

Pros:

- More content.

- Easy to add to any time you play the original game.

- The addition of events.

Valeria Card Kingdoms: Flames and Frost is one of those expansions that does not add extra complexity but instead simply gives the players more variability. These are my favourite types of expansions as they breathe new life into a game without the players having to learn or remember multiple new rules. Flames and Frost does this kind of expansion great, as there is extra variability in everything including more dukes, more domains, more citizens and monsters. It also adds events that have been in small expansion packs but that has not yet been used like this. This expansion is a must buy if you enjoy Valeria Card Kingdoms and simply want more choice and variability when it comes to set up and playing.

These seals are those extra highlights for a Kickstarter Seal i would highly recommend backing or seeking out the kickstarter post release. For the Silver Seals i would seek out those games if they meet your style of game. The Golden Seals will be pat of my collection for a long time and i would highly recommend adding them to your collection.
