Objective:

The objective of the game is to purposefully flick the die from your flying saucer and land on a target to gain points. Whoever has the most points once all the targets are claimed has successfully won the game.

Setup:

- Setup targets equal to the player count plus one. Targets must be distanced so that a whole other target could fit in the space between two.

- Place your flying saucer on the edge of the table next to you.
-Place the die within reach to all players.

How to Play:

On your turn you will place the die in the center or your flying saucer and flick towards a target, the game is that easy. Three potential outcomes will occur;
- you will hit nothing (don’t despair, you will get better with practice),
- you will hit a target for points,
- or you will hit another players flying saucer.

When you flick the die and land on nothing, you will move your flying saucer to the landing spot of the die and place it over the die to mark your location for next turn. This can help to give you an advantage when next trying to score points.

If you hit a target you will score the outermost ring of the target (three rings in total for one target) and place it in front of you. By doing this, the targets become smaller in size but larger in point value. Additional points can be scored if the die lands on the target with a particular symbol face-up, as each target displays a unique symbol on the inner ring. If this symbol-matching occurs during a productive flick, flip over the ring you’ve gained for one additional point. After you have scored, your saucer will restart back to it's starting location.

If you manage to flick the die and land on another player’s flying saucer, their saucer is sent back to their starting place and your saucer is placed in their vacated location.

Play continues with all players taking turns to perform one flick action until all targets have been scored. Whoever has the most points at the end of the game is the winner.

Final Thoughts:

Pros:
- Quick, fun and exciting.
- Easy to learn and easy to play.

Cons:
- The scoring is mostly luck based.

'Mars Attacks - 10 Minute Takedown is a fast and thrilling game of flicking the die to win targets. This is the kind of game where you don’t want to sit down, as you will constantly be moving around for the best angle. On one hand the game box and components are about as much into the theme as it gets, unfortunately the game itself doesn’t really encompass the famous franchise. However, it does not lessen the enjoyment. It is fun, fast and engaging and that is exactly what you want from a ten minute game.
