First Impressions: Unstable Unicorns, yay or nay?

So today at my friendly local gaming store (Good Games), I played a recently kickstarted game that found great success reaching 1.8 mil on September 16th 2017. Now I didn't expect much from this game, to me it just looked like it got it's attention from the cute factor, and didn't look like it had much gameplay to keep me at the table. But lets be honest with ourselves can you say no to these cute unicorns, LOOK!!!! Unicorns !!!
Anywhooo, back to the game so the game is a super simple game. On your turn you draw a card, then play a card or draw another card. Thats that, takes 10 seconds to learn in fact it took me that long to learn as all they told me was read the cards I get and here is a player aid that will tell me everything I need to know and it did. Oh and the way you win is to gain a certain amount of fantastical creatures in your stable.
Now this game did wow me with it's immersiveness of cuteness and simple rules, however the issue with the game is it has a "lets take down the leader and never get to finish the actual game effect", as there are multitudes of take that cards amongst the deck. So to rate these first impressions I'm using a 5 dice system.
1 dice: Run away as fast as I can, you can't catch me game!
2 dice: I enjoyed it but probably won't play again.
3 dice: I might play again but not straight away.
4 dice: I'll play anytime but won't bring myself to get the game.
5 dice: Shut up and take my money, instant add to collection.

So to summarise I'm not a big fan of take that games but with an abundance of different unicorns, spells and stable enhancement cards in the deck. There's plenty of variety and I give this first impression a 3 out of 5 dice. I'm not running to the store to buy the game but I'll defiantly play the game again in the future.

Expand Your Game: Seals

Expand Your Game: Seals Some games that have been reviewed so far really stand out and for those games they deserve an extra highlight. These seals are those extra highlights for a Kickstarter Seal i would highly recommend backing or seeking out the kickstarter post release. For the Silver Seals i would seek out those games if they meet your style of game. The Golden Seals will be pat of my collection for a long time and i would highly recommend adding them to your collection.
